Competition Winners

Fiesta winner - Sarah Ravening

We are delighted to announce the winner of the 2026 fiesta competition as Sarah Ravening and her image of a cactus. The judges loved the vibrancy and fun of the image and felt it conveyed the aims of this years festival: summer fun, getting to know your neighbours and expressing yourself.

Sarah says:

"I love painting bright paintings and always struggle to find a subject. As soon as I saw fiesta I knew I had to do a cactus! The rest just sort of evolved as I was painting it. I really enjoyed painting it and am so pleased with how it turned out!"

Sarah is a self-taught artist of about 26 years. She has always loved creating works of art but rarely sells them as they usually end up on her walls. She started with oils but then discovered acrylics and now wouldn't go back.

Her dream is to make a career out of art. Who knows... maybe winning this competition will be the first step on that journey.

We had other beautiful entries to the competition. Especially commended by the judges were images by Lizzy Milby, Jane Henstridge-Blows and Victoria Chernenko. Our thanks to everyone who took the time to enter.
