Past Festivals

Dating back to 2024, the Nansledan Arts Festival has a new theme each year, where all sorts of related art and cultural activities are created by local children and adults alike. Trails, competitions, workshops and events all culminate in fun for everyone!

Our 2026 festival was all about partying with our friends and community in midsummer!

750 visits were made to the festival over the 9 days, to the art exhibition, the eleven art and music workshops, the comedy night, the scarecrow trail, the free community day at the Park and our highlight gig featuring From Scratch Choir Newquay and the international folk-americana-latino band Track Dogs!

We also organised a sand art workshop for residents of St Petroc's and free dance and circus workshops in 3 local schools and enjoyed a fabulous resulting Flash Mob dance by young people from Treviglas Academy at the start of the Park event.

As usual we collaborated with an enormous number of local artists, businesses and community organisations, strengthening community relationships.

DL Accounts, CG Fry & Son and Morrish Homes continued to sponsor the whole festival while other specific elements were supported by Moore Movement Fitness, Make it Better CIC, Wilkinson Block Management, Dance Centred, FEAST Cornwall, Cornwall Council, the Boardmasters Foundation and the Duchy of Cornwall. We are enormously grateful for all their support.

Flourish!

Our 2025 festival was all about celebrating our flourishing community here in Nansledan.

650 visits were made to the festival and we had a collection of 'firsts': first ever 'Over the Wall' Garden Trail; first ever Scarecrow Trail and competition; first ever young people's workshops including two with Nansledan School; and first ever Comedy Night - the Cornish Comedy Showcase - which sold out!

Otherwise, there was a growing range of adult art workshops, the craft fair, Raise the Roof music afternoon which raised £640 for Cornwall Mind and a final flourish! in the Festival Finale Stomp with Salt & Sky.

Connections

Our very first festival was all about creating connections in our community: connecting at workshops, on the Art, Architecture and Biodiversity trails, at the Shiva music night and at the Craft Fair, talks and spoken word night in Nansledan School .........
